As you may have noticed from the left sidebar, I've once again been invited to be a guest at Intervention the convention that's "one part new media, one part gaming and one part nerd party." Most of us spend a lot of time on the Internet. Unless you have an assistant that prints out your daily blog roll, chances are you're on the Internet right now. We spend our time looking at comics, watching videos, reading blogs, connecting with friends, tweeting and sometimes, just surfing. Intervention provides us with a place where we can meet, talk with, learn from and party with the people we see online every day.
We had an awesome time at last year's show and the best part was meeting so many awesome people that I had previously only known from online. I really want to thank Onezumi and her tireless staff for putting together the most incredible, non-stop weekend nerd party I've ever had the honor of attending. I can't wait to see you all again in September. If you missed out last year here's your chance to make up for it. We're packing our bags and heading back to rocking Rockville, Maryland again this year and I really hope to see you there.
One of the best parts of last year's show was that I had the chance to meet Phil Hofer. Most folks know Phil online as @Frumph but I know him as the genius who makes it possible for me to give you comics online. He's the guy who has been keeping ComicPress running for a while now and I owe him a ton of gratitude. He's always been there to help straighten out whatever mess I've made when I tried to tinker with the web site and touched things I shouldn't.
Last year he led a few seminars at Intervention that were super informative and helpful. I know a lot of my readers are fellow web-comickers and I know a lot of them use ComicPress to run their sites, so I think it would be a big help to you to get to Intervention and meet Frumph. But first we need to get Frumph to D.C. For some crazy reason he's chosen to live his life on the far left side of the country (aka California). We get hurricanes, tornadoes and Pat Robertson and he gets earthquakes, fires and landslides so I guess it's a fair trade. In any event, he's on the West Coast and we need to get him to the East Coast for the convention. Let's make this happen. Head over to his main site www.Frumph.net and read up on his plan to get out here. Then kick-in a few bucks so we can all benefit from the powerful resource that is his brain.
Really looking forward to seeing you all again. I may have a surprise or two at my table this year, so come check it out September 16-18!
