It's pretty much in the same field as the last company I worked with before I started working full time on the comic a couple years ago. After almost a month and a half at the new company I'm totally amazed at the difference. Even though I'm making significantly less at the new place so far, it is like night and day as to how they treat their people. For the first time in my life I don't wake up hating the company I work for, I actually like it.

Granted every place has it's good and bad points and you'll always get more BS on some days than others. Maybe in a year or two I'll be moaning and complaining here about work, but it was refreshing to not be inundated by the BS from day one.

For those wondering about the comic, new updates will be coming soon. The summer was rather insane and life has been in a constant state of flux. I've made it through with the help of some really good friends. Only a few of my closest friends will ever know how bad it got toward the end but now there's light at the end of the tunnel and things are really looking up.

Once I get settled in a new apartment and get the Interwebs (and running water) I'll start updating again. I've been writing all this time so I have plenty of scripts and ideas for new comics. Thanks for sticking around through all of this. I don't care what the other cartoonists say, you guys are the best readers on the Internet and I am very thankful that you choose to spend some of your precious time checking out what I have to say and draw.
<div

This 136 page book contains the first 150 comics in dynamci futuristic greyscale (including the Christmas Special), cartoonist commentary and then gives you over 30 more pages of bonus material including never before seen sketches and a large sampling of my two previous comics Random Acts of ADP and Westerwald Place.

So how do you get a copy? Glad you asked. You can follow this link, or you can go up to the menu bar and select "Shop". But wait! What if you're afraid of the Intertrons stealing your grandma's secret blueberry pancake recipe when you buy things online? Well first I think you should take off your tinfoil hat and seek therapy, but I have a solution for you as well. You can pick up a copy from me at Intervention September 16-18 in Rockville, MD. I'll even throw a sketch in the front for you at no extra charge. What a deal, right? Heck, even if you order one online and get it before the con, if you bring it by I'll sketch that one too! How can you pass up such an awesome opportunity! It's pure madness to walk away from a deal like this.

Furthermore, I'm really getting tired of Ramen for dinner so if you buy a book or two I'll be able to upgrade to bologna sandwiches! Everyone wins!

I'll be feeling fine at Table 9 just like last year.
<div

Time for me to start talking to you about all the fun you'll be missing if you don't head over to the Intervention website and register. Without a doubt I had a blast last year and had the opportunity to meet a lot of awesome readers, meet up with old friends and make a lot of new ones. From what I'm hearing this year will be bigger with even more people to meet and become friends.

I know I spend most of my life on the computer and online. Intervention is an awesome way to bring your online life into real life. It was really great being able to meet and hang out with people I'd only previously known online. How many friends do you have in Twitter and Facebook that you've never met? Now's your chance to fix that problem and meet them in person September 16 - 18 in rocking Rockville, MD.

I've been watching the guest list grow every day. There's a lot of us returning from last year and there's a lot of new folks as well. There's going to be games, music, panels and tons of other stuff. Best of all if you show up, we get to meet in person! Heck, I won't even charge to have a picture taken with you this year (which may explain why I had so few pictures with fans last year). And this year the sponsors are really freaking awesome. Wacom and Bawls are going to be there and there's a chance they may give away stuff to a few people! Stuff like tablets and software? Yep. And you know you can't have a convention if you don't have Bawls so this is going to be awesome. Who doesn't like to get hopped-up on Bawls and draw on a new Wacom tablet all night? I know that's like routine for some of my cartoonist friends, toss in a few games and this thing turns into a massive weekend-long party.

And here's a another option you may not have thought about, why not volunteer to help the staff? There's an entire page explaining what volunteers and staff do at the convention. It's a great way to get behind the scenes and meet all of your favorite online people in one weekend. If you've ever thought about working at a convention, seriously head over to their Volunteer/Staff Info Page and check it out.

Seriously, great guests, great merch, great people and one great time that you'll not forget anytime soon. What more do you want out of one weekend? Go register, get a hotel room and let's party like it's the end of some ancient calendar thingie.
<div

Albiet not for lack of having anything to say, because I have rants upon rants filed away in my mental database, being lazy or playing Call of Duty: Black Ops are my official excuses.

So what would the person you probably don't know or had no idea even was the contributing editor possibly have to say to hold your attention? More jibber jabber like my last post? (Tech Assist). No, sorry to get your hopes up. I would like to think that I have improved on my self taught skill of this medium I like to call "typing random words and hoping someone reads it". But the past couple days I have been privy to top secret information concerning Reality Amuck's first book. Yeah, you're listening now aren't you? Er, well reading still.

Can't go into much detail, or really any for that matter out of fear of a wireless Apple mouse getting thrown at my head. But I can say some things. It looks great. Tovias is really putting in a lot of late nights and hard work into it and I know anyone who gets one with be very satisfied. I really don't know what satisfies you, or anyone else for that matter. So making that statement is like saying "Oh you like cheese? Well then you'll love Reality Amuck's book." Get a book anyway. You won't be disappointed.

Also that's the reason he hasn't been updating the comic regularly. I didn't realize how much work went into getting a book ready for publishing, but it's a lot. If you're still feening for a comic, I'll wait until he's up from his desk and throw a bunch of stick figures up with some knock knock jokes to hold you over until he's back on a regular schedule.

- dirty
<div

Of course, as always, I messed up the first time around and made my private account public instead of using my public account (which remained private). Why bother with two accounts? Well you and I are good pals, but I've heard there are some odd people out there. Because of those people I'd rather keep the videos of my kids, the family vacation, etc. limited to family for now. Plus I'm sure it would end up being really boring. That's because anything interesting, fun or exciting that I make I will be posting to the Reality Amuck YouTube Channel.

Head on over and subscribe (I hear that's a thing that we're supposed to ask people to do). Currently there are just two videos uploaded and I've got a couple playlists built that you might like. It's not a big thing now, but I wanted to have it ready to build upon and I figured you'd want to be in on the ground floor with this bad boy.

Intervention the convention that's "one part new media, one part gaming and one part nerd party." Most of us spend a lot of time on the Internet. Unless you have an assistant that prints out your daily blog roll, chances are you're on the Internet right now. We spend our time looking at comics, watching videos, reading blogs, connecting with friends, tweeting and sometimes, just surfing. Intervention provides us with a place where we can meet, talk with, learn from and party with the people we see online every day.

We had an awesome time at last year's show and the best part was meeting so many awesome people that I had previously only known from online. I really want to thank Onezumi and her tireless staff for putting together the most incredible, non-stop weekend nerd party I've ever had the honor of attending. I can't wait to see you all again in September. If you missed out last year here's your chance to make up for it. We're packing our bags and heading back to rocking Rockville, Maryland again this year and I really hope to see you there.

One of the best parts of last year's show was that I had the chance to meet Phil Hofer. Most folks know Phil online as @Frumph but I know him as the genius who makes it possible for me to give you comics online. He's the guy who has been keeping ComicPress running for a while now and I owe him a ton of gratitude. He's always been there to help straighten out whatever mess I've made when I tried to tinker with the web site and touched things I shouldn't.

Last year he led a few seminars at Intervention that were super informative and helpful. I know a lot of my readers are fellow web-comickers and I know a lot of them use ComicPress to run their sites, so I think it would be a big help to you to get to Intervention and meet Frumph. But first we need to get Frumph to D.C. For some crazy reason he's chosen to live his life on the far left side of the country (aka California). We get hurricanes, tornadoes and Pat Robertson and he gets earthquakes, fires and landslides so I guess it's a fair trade. In any event, he's on the West Coast and we need to get him to the East Coast for the convention. Let's make this happen. Head over to his main site www.Frumph.net and read up on his plan to get out here. Then kick-in a few bucks so we can all benefit from the powerful resource that is his brain.

Really looking forward to seeing you all again. I may have a surprise or two at my table this year, so come check it out September 16-18!

PC Weenies by the super-talented Krishna Sadasivam. It was amazing to watch his art improve and grow over the past decade but now, after thirteen years, he's apparently taking a break. I'll admit, I was a little shocked this morning when I saw the headline "The Last PC Weenies Ever" in my RSS reader.

I had the pleasure of meeting Krishna at the first Webcomics Weekend back in 2009 and he was even nicer in person than he is online (which is hard to believe because he's one of the nicest people I've ever met online). We were able to meet-up again at last year's Intervention Con in Rockville, MD. He's always a pleasure to talk with and I am so jealous of his smooth, clean art style.

I hate to see that he's decided to take an extended break from making comics but I fully understand how life can jump up and kick your butt from time to time.

If you haven't already started reading PC Weenies I highly encourage you to head over there and check it out. I'm sure you'll like enough that you'll want to buy one of his books as well.

Good luck, Krishna. We'll see you soon, till then we'll keep the Internetz warm for you. <img

Last year I did a Towel Day post and it was a lot of fun but I decided to hold off this year because next year is the big deal.

May is the fifth month, Towel Day is the 25th and the year is 2012, 5/25/12 right? (or 25/5/12 for the rest of the non-USA world). So 5 + 25 + 12 = 42! This has to mean something. Numbers and math are never wrong. Well, unless you're using some kind of convoluted math to predict the second coming of the Christian Messiah then it's Whack-a-doo City.

Any way, hope you had a great Towel Day, let's do something awesome next year. What do you think?
<div
