Janus: The God With Two Faces
on December 31, 2010 at 00:01The month of January takes its name from Janus, the Roman god of doorways, beginnings, endings and time. Many times he is shown to have two faces. One looking back and one looking forward. I guess that's appropriate seeing how we often do the same thing this time of year.
2010 (which I pronounce 'twenty-ten' and so should you) was a big year or me. It was the first year that I was able to work full-time on the comic, it was the first year that I was invited to have a table at a convention as a guest, it was the first year I made a sale of merchandise and it was the year I realized how hard all of this was going to be.
Without a doubt it was all of you who made this year possible. Your continued support, both financial and emotional, kept me going this year through some pretty tough times. Through your comments here on the site, tweets, retweets and messages on the Facebook fan page, it has been great getting to know so many of you over the course of the year and I look forward to more in the coming year.
2011 promises to be an even more exciting year. I'm already making plans for more public appearances, I'm hoping (very much) to be invited back to Intervention, and I hope to finally have some merchandise for all of you in the store and at convention(s).
I look forward to improving the comic more and more this year and hopefully by the end of 2011 we'll have even more funtastic memories together.
Happy New Year, I hope you have a great 2011. Remember, if you drink, don't drive. I can't afford to lose any readers at this point.

Awesome. This is one of my favorites. Keep it up!
Thanks. I’m hoping 2011 is even more awesome for all of us.
Funny you came up with a strip about the Verizon iPhone today, Tovias. I know someone who did the same thing as well…
